Dental Technology
At élan we stay up to date on all of the latest dental technology to ensure the best patient outcomes.
As a leading general, cosmetic, and restorative dentist, Dr. Hodges stays on the forefront of modern dentistry. She uses state-of-the-art tools and equipment at our paperless Tulsa office to increase comfort and provide an enjoyable and informative dental care experience.
Intra-oral Cameras & Scanners
This small, handheld camera lets us take pictures inside your mouth. We will display the images on your chairside monitor to explain her findings and let you become an equal partner in treatment planning.
As part of our digital dental technology collection, the 3Shape TRIOS 4 Intraoral Scanner is a powerful wireless intraoral scanner that provides higher accuracy in comparison with traditional impressions or intraoral scanners for impressions. The intraoral scanner also takes high-quality images with lifelike colors of the patient’s teeth. 3Shape TRIOS 4 Intraoral Scanner also includes TRIOS Patient Specific Motion to track and record the patient’s movements to highlight the dynamic and static contact points. Patients will love how accurate the images are for planning treatment and how quickly we’re able to scan their entire mouth.
Digital X-Rays
Digital radiography emits about 80% less radiation than traditional X-rays and requires no harsh developing chemicals, so it’s safer for you and the environment. The images can be immediately viewed on chairside monitors, stored electronically for reference, and digitally transmitted to insurance companies and specialists.
Digital Panorex
This high-tech machine delivers a two-dimensional view of your entire oral cavity. The highly detailed image is a top-notch diagnostic tool that lets us identify issues not easily found during a visual or manual exam.
Sedation Dentistry
We offer oral sedation to calm the nerves of anxious patients. Oral sedation is safe, effective, and can help you achieve a beautiful smile and lasting oral health. Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, can be administered in conjunction with oral sedation or independently.
NuCalm
NuCalm is a drug-free approach to feeling relaxed and comfortable at the dentist. Even if you don’t think you have dental anxiety, you might benefit from this amazing technology that uses neuroscience to disable your body’s stress response. Imagine being rested and rejuvenated after a dental visit–that’s what NuCalm can do for you.
Laser Dentistry
No modern dental office is complete without lasers. We use a DIAGNOdent laser to scan teeth for cavities and early-stage decay, called demineralization. A soft-tissue laser is our tool of choice to treat severe cases of gum disease, perform cosmetic gum lifts, remove suspicious lesions, and more.
Nomad X-Rays
In the past, dental x-rays were a huge machine that had to be installed into the wall on an articulating arm. But thanks to KAVO’s Nomad system, that’s a thing of the past. Now we have a portable x-ray gun that we can just put near your cheek and fire. It’s the same low dose of radiation, and the same high accuracy digital x-rays, but in a more convenient package that’s also better protected against scatter, so we can safely hold it in the room with you instead of stepping out.
BioPak - TMJ Dysfunction
BioPak is primarily used to diagnose and treat TMJ disorders, sleep disorders and craniofacial dysfunction. By using BioPak products, Dr. Hodges can accurately assess a patient's occlusion (the way their teeth come together) and make necessary adjustments to improve their bite. Bite problems can cause a range of symptoms such as headaches, jaw pain, and tooth wear, and accurate diagnosis and treatment with BioPak products can help alleviate these symptoms and prevent further damage to the teeth and jaw. Overall, BioPak is a valuable tool in diagnosing and treating neuromuscular and bite-related issues.
TENS Therapy
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) therapy is a non-invasive treatment option that can be used to manage the symptoms of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. During a TENS therapy session, small electrical pulses are delivered to the muscles surrounding the TMJ using adhesive electrodes placed on the skin. The electrical stimulation helps to relax the muscles, increase blood flow, and reduce jaw pain and inflammation in the affected area. TENS therapy is generally considered safe and well-tolerated, making it a popular choice for patients seeking non-invasive options for TMJ disorder management.
